“Gayle’s malas are stunningly beautiful, but also deeply unique and powerful in so many ways. I’ve had two of her malas for a few years now and I have a meditation practice: I’m a Yoga teacher and I have a meditation practice every day. I use mantra in mediation and they have helped me go into the deeper meditation practice. When I’ve worn them, especially in challenging times in my life, or an emotional time, like when I lost my father, particularly, the Tiger’s Eye one that I have, it really helped me get through that time. The vibration of the mala when you wear it, is deeply healing. -Its really really profound. I think she has really put them together so beautifully.- But its not just aesthetically beautiful – These malas are very very unique and their energy is very powerful in a positive way. I’m really happy with how they inspired and came into my life in the way that they have and I can really recommend them for everyone actually. Its something that you buy and have for life. It’s one of these things that are very sacred. I’m a big ambassador of Three Graces and everything that Gayle does! The positive energy that goes into them and whats she’s created and her influence and ideas… it all creates what Three Graces is!” -Lara Stapleton, Yoga Teacher, London
Benefits of Malas
There are numerous benefits to wearing a mala, having it close to your body and using it in a mantra or meditation. These benefits comes from the collective effects of its components as well as the energetic practice engaged with it itself.
Rudraksha seeds are used in some of these malas. Rudrasksha create a tremendous, positive energy for the mind, body and soul. They have special powers. Their dielectric and magnetic properties initiate and effect positive change in our neurophysiology. On top of this, the seeds created and used by Three Graces are uniquely and skilfully electroplated in gold- Gold is an excellent conductor. Therefore the energetic aura, the dielectric and magnetic properties are expanded and enhanced even further.
These seeds are used in ayurveda to treat and cure diseases and ailments. Scientifically proven to have many health benefits, wearing rudraksha alleviates the effects of hypertension, stress, depression and high blood pressure. Users soon experience increased levels of energy, stamina and concentration as well as a sense of peace and calm if wearing them closely to the body.
Rudraksha are imbued with karma shifting properties, naturally leading users to a path of truth and purpose while removing obstacles from the path to success. These treasured seeds charge the soul with shakti (divine feminine energy) increasing the souls’s radiance and ability to express its Divine power and wisdom in the material world.
What is a Mala?
Malas have been used for thousands of years in Tibet, India, China and Japan -used to recite repetitions of mantras, prayers, affirmations or count breaths.
Most of the ancient religions of the world have a tradition of using some type of mala as tools for devotional meditation. Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism and the Baha’i Faith have all had malas at the heart of their practice.
Mala beads today, can be used for repetitions of mantras, affirmations or prayers, or to count breaths as a mindfulness and meditation practice in and of itself, or as a preparation for meditation. These malas are 108 beads- the traditional, auspicious number used in Hinduism and Buddhism. Using a mala, allows you to keep track of your practice and its duration. It also allows your mind to be distracted from other mundane thoughts- and it quickly draws and focuses your attention into ‘presence’ and feeling centred.
When repeated, the mind is free to be still, while the repetitions are done with minimal conscious effort. From this place of stillness, the intention of your practice and the words being uttered, have more resonance, or energetic power.
Mantra and Meditation
Mantras are words of power and uttering them internally or out loud generates high energetic vibrations. Their cumulative effects are stored in the mala in particular, in particular its guru bead, the larger the bead that joins the two strands of silk together. Repeating the mantra induces a meditative state. This concentration brings on a deep sense of peace and joy. The pure essence of being in the present moment.
Engagement with a particular mediation practice such as using a mantra or affirmation with a mala, helps shape new, more positive ways of being. You discover the patterns and habits of your mind. Through diligence over time a profoundly peaceful energised state of mind develops.
